Effective client communication extends further than simply “touching base” with your clients once a week or so. By reaching out to your clients consistently, you are assuring them that they are a priority and that you are on the same page as them. Let’s take a deeper look at how client communication can help keep your relationships strong.

Staying on Top of Issues

Now that we touched on the importance of communication, how do you go about practicing quality communication? One way to do this is by staying on top of issues that are urgent. For example, in the Summer of 2018, there was a major issue affecting the entire East Coast of the United States regarding internet connection. A major internet provider suffered an outage that lasted a few hours on a Friday afternoon. This led to many clients growing concerned about whether or not their website had shut down. As the website hosting company for our clients, we needed to stay on top of this issue and relay information as it was received. The whole team at beMarketing was working the phones to let our clients know that this was an issue that many areas of the country were facing and that we had no control over it, but we were available to answer any questions they had. By keeping the lines of communication open and responding rapidly, our team was able to put our clients’ worries at rest and assure them that their website was not harmed.

Solving Problems with Effective Client Communication

In addition to helping solve problems, effective communication can also help create opportunities for clients. By engaging in consistent dialogue with clients over goals, strategies and projects, you are making sure that these areas are being met efficiently. An example of this can be if you are working on a Pay-Per-Click campaign for a client and want to adjust the campaign. The most efficient way to do this is to give your client a quick call to offer your suggestions. This can save a great amount of time going back and forth via email. Saving just an hour by making a quick call can make all the difference when it comes to generating a few more leads!
